Detoxing naturally is one way to go. I thank you for your advise and I am really going to try some of the herbs you suggested. Detoxification from drugs or alcohol is brutal. You are absolutely right in arguing that the more prepared an addict is the more likely he or she will succeed and continue on a path of sobriety. Support from family and friends as well as treatment professionals is also key. Unfortunately many times relapse is also part of the recovery process. So the detox process must be repeated. This is why the AA phrase of “keep coming back” is repeated so often. They know it is important to keep trying for long term sobriety even after failing.

It is so important for the recovery process to discover what motivated the addiction to begin with.This is why there is so much support from professionals when an addict goes into treatment.
